We are looking for a highly skilled and seasoned Principal Engineer to join our OLX CU Team, specializing in the Mobile domain. In this role, you will partner with Senior Leadership and Engineering Teams to shape and implement the mobile strategy for our product, ensuring it meets the highest standards of efficiency, scalability, availability, reliability, and quality.You will be an integral part of the Engineering team, working across various departments to ensure that our technical decisions are aligned with business objectives and adhere to best practices in system design and implementation.This role is pivotal in building, developing, and executing the company’s mobile strategy in close collaboration with our Product and Data Teams, including planning and driving the rollout of our new mobile strategy across the organization.Principal Engineer Responsibilities:– Lead the design, development, and delivery of the company’s mobile strategy, focusing on cross-platform mobile technologies (preferably Flutter).– Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to drive technical alignment and ensure seamless integration across various business verticals.– Support the company in planning and executing the rollout of its new mobile strategy, ensuring smooth adoption and implementation.– Ensure that mobile solutions are scalable, secure, and performant while adhering to industry best practices.– Provide strategic leadership in mobile technology innovation, staying ahead of industry trends and driving continuous improvement across mobile platforms.– Engage in hands-on technical work when necessary, leading by example and mentoring other engineers and staff engineers.– Foster collaboration across multiple departments, ensuring that the mobile roadmap aligns with broader company goals.– Act as a subject matter expert in mobile engineering, offering guidance on architectural decisions and mobile development frameworks.– Drive mobile adoption and innovation company-wide, setting the vision and execution path for mobile technology.– Ensure the delivery of high-quality products by implementing robust testing and monitoring strategies.Experience & Skills:– Proven experience as a Principal Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, or similar senior engineering role in the mobile space.– Expert knowledge of cross-platform mobile technologies, preferably Flutter (but experience with other technologies such as React Native or Xamarin is also considered).– Strong strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and implement long-term technical vision while handling short- and medium-term needs.– Experience working in highly collaborative environments, interacting with Product, Engineering, Data, and Product teams to ensure alignment.– Proven track record of leading the development of large-scale, high-performance mobile applications.– Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with leadership responsibilities.– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.– Experience in driving technical innovation and defining mobile strategy at a company-wide level.– Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and tools, mobile CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.What we’ll give you:– Competitive salary and annual bonus up to 20% of your annual salary.– Unique opportunity to become a part of an international team of top engineers learning from one another and contributing to the global OLX success.– Working with and impacting all Classifieds websites in Europe, collaborating with European and other International Hubs.– An extraordinary place to learn and develop within fast-growing, global classifieds leader which opens further career opportunities in a diverse world of OLX and Prosus.– Work in a multicultural and international environment.
