Hours: On-site, 5 days per weekDue to the nature of this role, applicants must be sole British nationals and eligible for UK Security Clearance.Who We Are & What’s on OfferMatchtech has partnered with a major player in Defence and Security to recruit talented engineers, physicists, or mathematicians for their growing team.You’ll be working on the development, integration, and validation of advanced simulation models using tools like MATLAB and Simulink.This is a hands-on role where your technical skills will directly impact real-world, mission-critical systems.How You’ll ContributeAs a Simulation & Modelling Engineer, you’ll collaborate with system designers, software developers, and control engineers to build high-performance models that support every phase of the product lifecycle – from concept to deployment.Your key responsibilities:
- Modelling & Integration
Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink models, integrating external code (C/C++, FMUs, S-functions). * Automation & QualityAutomate testing and verification workflows, lead peer reviews, and maintain high-quality technical documentation. * System Support & ImprovementSupport integration, performance assessment, configuration management, and continuous process improvements.What You’ll Bring
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, dynamic system modelling, and model-based design.
- Tooling & Integration: Skilled in scripting (MATLAB, GitLab, Jenkins), integrating third-party code (C/C++, FMUs), and using version control (Git, EWM).
- Ways of Working: Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
- Experience with automated code generation from Simulink models
- Comfortable working across cross-functional and international teams
