Private Sector Housing OfficerPost No: 4210Salary: Starting from £41,511 to £44,711 per annumScale / Band: Grade 7Hours: 37 hours per weekPlace of work: Worthing Town HallClosing date: 12th January 2025Interviews: TBCFollowing the wider Housing Services Redesign, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Council’s Private Sector Housing Team (PSHT) as a Private Sector Housing Officer.The PSHT are responsible for wide ranging duties to improve the safety of homes in our area for our residents.As a Private Sector Housing Officer you will support the Private Sector Housing Manager and Senior Environmental Health Officers to carry out a full range of enforcement, advisory and grant aided activities relating to the Private Sector Housing responsibilities of the Council.Duties within this role include a full range of enforcement, advisory and grant aided activities in the following areas:-

• Housing conditions
• Houses in Multiple Occupation
• Housing or living conditions giving rise to public health concerns or causing a nuisance, such as filthy or verminous premises
• The delivery of Disabled Facility and Housing Renewal Grants
• Arranging public assisted funerals
• Assist in the training of students and enforcement officers, as necessary
