Process Technology is a group of over 100 employees across five departments: Automation, Process Engineering, Validation, Engineering Science, and CAD Services. We maintain overall responsibility for ensuring smooth daily operations within these disciplines.We are looking for a new colleague in the Engineering Science department, a team consisting of six highly skilled engineers that provides technical leadership for pharmaceutical process equipment design, onboarding new clients/programs and secure the right manufacturing capabilities for the future. As part of our team, you will provide process engineering technical leadership, focusing on the design and specification of new equipment for our large-scale manufacturing facility. This could include equipment for both upstream operations related to fermentation, for downstream purification unit operations, or any associated utility operations. You’ll ensure that all designs and specifications meet the strict standards expected in the pharmaceutical industry.The Engineering Science department also conducts initial facility fit evaluations and CAPEX cost estimations for new programs. As a CDMO, we partner with some of the most innovative biopharma companies globally. At the onset of a tech transfer, you will act as a crucial link between them and the FDB team. You are expected to build relationships with our diverse biopharma clientele to instill confidence in our technical assessments and ensure smooth collaboration.   • Lead continuous improvements of equipment and facility performance.
  • Provide technical expertise for new processing equipment installations and modifications to existing equipment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in technology transfer of new pharmaceutical products and processes.
  • Conduct facility fit assessments for new programs to our existing manufacturing capabilities and identify any gaps. You should propose and discuss resolutions of gaps in close collaboration with clients, providing subsequent support for implementation.

Education and Competencies
We expect you to have in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical process equipment and understand the complexities of implementation in the pharma industry. You should be able to independently lead and drive technical group meetings, including cross-functional groups and external partners. You have excellent communication skills and routinely provide timely updates. You are fluent in English, the main language, and comfortable working with Excel, Visio, and similar tools

  • Hold a BA or MA in Engineering or another relevant field.
  • Preferably have a minimum of 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical engineering or manufacturing.
  • Be adept at interacting with internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizational units and providing technical oversight and guidance.
  • Ability to present findings and data to large groups, external partners, and senior leadership team members.
