Job description
Production Support Engineer – North Dublin.Our client seeks a “hands on” Production Support Engineer to support a number of its existing manufacturing cells. The successful applicant will have a strong technical background and minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in a medium/high volume mechanical/manufacturing environment.The key aspects of the role are:
- Support manufacturing processes and provide process improvements to existing products
- To define and validate manufacturing process for upgrade products or new products
- Support mechanical/electrical assembly jigs, fixtures and purpose-built test equipment
- Process analysis and Product Quality reporting
- To work closely with other Engineers and Production Staff to drive quality standards and improvements
- To work closely with Product Designers to ensure the product is designed for assembly
Interested applicants should have:
- Educated to at least degree level in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
- Experience in use of structured problem-solving techniques
- Good “can do” attitude and ability to work well in a team
- “Hands-on” ability
It is an advantage (although not essential) to have any of the following:
- Experience with practical application of Six Sigma tools, including Statistical Process Control, Gauge Studies & Process Capability
- Experience in use of Excel and related business intelligence tools for data analysis
- Experience in practical application of Industry 4.0 real time data analytics, including Power BI, SQL and VBA/Excel
- Experience in practical application of Lean Projects
- Experience in design, validation & implementation of assembly fixtures
- Experience using and interpreting technical drawings including GD&T’s
