HST is one of the most multidisciplinary research units in University of Oulu offering unique potential for addressing complex health-related research questions. HST unit conducts research under four spearhead areas: 1) Medical Bioengineering and Smart Diagnostics & Treatments for Effective Patient Care, 2) Intelligent & Evidence-based Healthcare Innovations, 3) Human-centered Health and Wellbeing, and 4) Sustainable Management & Competence Development.About the jobThe duties of a Professor of Radiology include:
- planning, developing, supervising and implementing undergraduate education,
- leading and guiding radiologic research,
- being responsible for scientific postgraduate education,
- acting as the person responsible for specialist training (residency & fellowships) in radiology.

Who are you?In order to succeed and enjoy the position, we expect from you:
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field
- Specialist degree in radiology in Finland with at least two years of clinical experience as a specialist in radiology
- High level of scientific qualification
- Experience in conducting scientific research,
- Ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching
- Experience in supervising theses and acquiring research funding
- Proof of international cooperation in the field of research they represent
- Ability to act as an Academic Leader
- Fluent Finnish and English language skills
SalaryThe position is permanent as of 1.1.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.The salary will be based on the levels 8-9 of the demand level chart for teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (a maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component). The starting gross salary will be approx. 5700-6500 € per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied for the position.How to apply?Interested?
