Director/ Line Manager of Technology Strategy & InnovationSalary Level: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.Job PurposesDrive the development and execution of strategic R&D initiatives focused on power semiconductor technologies and their integration into advanced systems such as DC grids, electric vehicles, and photovoltaic-storage solutions.Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic internal and external research programs in Power Semiconductors and Power Systems
• Identify and assess emerging technologies through research, simulation, and trend analysis
• Develop high-impact technical analysis reports for senior decision-makers
• Define and steer innovation initiatives aligned with corporate and business unit goals
• Cultivate global partnerships with academic institutions, suppliers, and industry consortia
• Provide cross-functional guidance for product development strategies and feasibility studies
• Organize and moderate internal workshops and technical exchanges
• Support prototype development for early-stage evaluations

QualificationsEducation:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or related field

Experience:

• 5+ years in semiconductor R&D or technology strategy
• Expertise in one or more areas:

o GaN/SiC power semiconductors
o Power electronics and Modules
o MCU-Based smart power Systems
o Applications in EV, data center, and PV storage
o DC-DC and AC-DC power distribution networksCertifications:

• Not mandatory, but knowledge of IP management or tech transfer is a plus

Skills and CompetencesTechnical Skills:

• Simulation and modeling tools for semiconductor and system design
• Familiarity with advanced control and diagnostic algorithms

Soft Skills:

• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and communication abilities
• Strong leadership and project management across diverse teams
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
• High resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments
• Fluent in English; capable presenter (PowerPoint, Excel)

Working Conditions

• Full-time position based in Leuven, Belgium
• Occasional international travel (conferences, partner visits)
