• In collaboration with the Business Unit Manager and internal experts, you translate the market needs in into strategic visions and a project portfolio. Subsequently, you draft convincing business cases for the submission of concrete R&D projects.
• You are line manager for an autonomous team of Project Managers/Senior AI Experts. You recruit new talent and encourage the development of knowledge and skills of your team members, balancing personal professional growth and the requirements for (future) projects.
• At (inter)national events, network meetings or meetings with (potential) customers or partners, you are Sirris’ ambassador for the GenAI program. Building awareness of GenAI’s potential and fostering confidence in Sirris as a high-tech knowledge center.
• You communicate the strategic value of GenAI projects to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Sirris’ mission to advance Belgium’s technological industry. Foster cross-functional collaboration by sharing insights, innovations, and best practices across programs and business units.
• You oversee ongoing R&D projects in various stages of development. This includes resource planning, complex stakeholder management, escalation support and budget management.

Are you a people manager interested in new technologies?

• At least 7 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex programs, ideally within a business, technology, or innovation environment with a strong industry focus. Experience with subsidized projects is a strong asset.
• You have a strong affinity for emerging technologies such as Data, ML, AI and GenAI, and know how to translate complex innovations into business value – without being a technical expert yourself.
• A Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, demonstrating deep technical and analytical expertise.
• Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in Dutch and/or French being highly preferred to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
• Must be based in Belgium or willing to relocate independently, ensuring availability to work closely with the local team and partners.
