In addition, 20+ Huawei apps and 10+ mainstream ad formats are at users’ disposal.About the Job:Huawei Ads is building the next-generation ad exchange (ADX) engine to power a sustainable and innovative computational advertising ecosystem. As a Computational Ads Bidding Expert, you will serve as a technical pioneer and thought partner within our global team.In this role, you will not only design and optimise bidding strategies but also drive innovation, shape the technical roadmap, and collaborate across domains to influence the future of Huawei’s advertising technology stack. Your work will directly impact billion-scale business outcomes and help set industry benchmarks for smart bidding, auction mechanism design, and campaign optimisation.Responsibility:
- Technical Leadership & Framework Design
- Co-Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the bidding strategy framework for real-time bidding ads.
- Collaborate with existing technical leads to define Huawei Ads’ long-term bidding strategy and ecosystem vision.
- Innovation & Research Impact
- Conduct research on next-generation auction mechanisms, game-theoretic approaches, and reinforcement learning for smart bidding.
- Identify and drive forward-looking projects that can position Huawei Ads at the forefront of computational advertising.
- Explore potential cross-team and cross-domain collaborations (e.g., recommendation, pricing, fraud detection, attribution).
- Optimisation of Campaign & Ecosystem Performance
- Develop advanced strategies for smart bidding, budget allocation/pacing, and bid landscaping, and campaign performance optimisation.
- Solve complex challenges in budget fulfilment, cold start deployment, campaign stability, anti-fraud, and attribution.
- Industry Thought Leadership
- Stay ahead of the curve on bidding mechanisms and algorithms, integrating state-of-the-art research into production systems.
- Publish and present research findings in top-tier journals, conferences, and industry forums.
- Mentor engineers and data scientists, elevating the team’s technical capability.
Requirements:
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or related fields.
- Domain Expertise: Rich experience in computational advertising, particularly in bidding, reinforcement learning, auction mechanism design, or game theory.
- Innovation Track Record: Proven ability to propose, design, and deliver next-generation bidding frameworks, with successful application experience in smart bidding, budget pacing, campaign stability, anti-fraud, and attribution.
- Research Leadership: Strong academic background, with publications in top conferences/journals (e.g., KDD, NeurIPS, SIGIR, WWW, ICML) preferred.
- Technical Foresight: Ability to rapidly understand and integrate emerging technologies into Huawei Ads’ bidding ecosystem.
- Collaboration & Influence: Skilled at working with technical leads and global teams, aligning strategy and execution while driving innovation
