Join Quartr as a Python Backend Engineer specializing in web data extraction to help us drive real-time, reliable data solutions for the finance industry.About the Documents TeamQuartr’s Documents Team builds and maintains the systems responsible for ingesting and classifying financial documents from a wide range of third-party sources. This includes robust integration with external APIs, intelligent document classification, and automated extraction of relevant data from web-based sources. By joining this team, you’ll work on high-impact solutions at the intersection of data engineering and financial intelligence – powering reliable, scalable access to critical document-based insights.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain scalable data collection pipelines to power Quartr’s data-driven productsImplement and enhance automated web data extraction solutions to efficiently gather large volumes of real-time financial dataCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business goalsMonitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth operation and timely data deliveryWork closely with non-technical stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are understandable and aligned with business needsRequired technical skills2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, with a focus on PythonAbility to independently write maintainable codeAbility to explain code and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to propose durable, simple solutions to complex problemsExperience merging data from different sourcesExperience in automated web data extraction, with tools such as Selenium, BeautifulSoup, or ScrapyPreferred technical skillsHands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, EC2, ECS, and S3Knowledge of ETL processes, large-scale data pipeline management, and workflow tools like Apache Airflow; experience handling streaming or batch data ingestionExperience with Docker for deploying and managing backend services and web data extraction scriptsExperience working with proxy servicesDesired qualitiesAn understanding of equity market mechanicsBe self-driven, proactive, and take full ownership of your projectsDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills and work independently on technical challengesCommunicate clearly and effectively, thriving in a high-paced, collaborative environmentBe passionate about Quartr’s mission and dedicated to delivering high-quality, valuable dataWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryCompany option planTop-notch equipment of your choiceWellness allowanceFlexible work arrangements (remote or on-site in Stockholm/Gothenburg) – must be based in Sweden with a valid work permitEmployee pension (Tjänstepension)Note: We are not seeking assistance from consultants or recruitment agencies.About QuartrEvery day, leading companies and financial institutions worldwide rely on Quartr to make better decisions faster.
