We are looking for a R&D Project Manager for our client ABB Marine & Ports in Vuosaari, Helsinki. In this role, you will lead global research and development projects focused on electrical energy systems, automation, and digitalization for the maritime industry. As an R&D Project Manager, you will take full ownership of complex product development projects-from planning to execution. Your work will focus on developing innovative technologies and systems for ABB’s Marine Service and Digital business line. You’ll work in a highly collaborative, international environment and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.You are offered

– Lead and manage R&D projects from initiation to successful completion
– Work with advanced technologies such as frequency converters (drives), battery storage, distributed power generation, DC microgrids, power and energy management systems, and digital energy optimization
– Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to align technical efforts with business objectives
– Promote innovation and technical excellence to strengthen ABB’s leadership in the marketWe are looking for
– Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy and Process Systems Engineering
– Experience in leading R&D projects
– Knowledge of system drives and distributed power generation is considered an advantage
– Background in system integration business is a plus
– A creative and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
– A team-oriented attitude with a proactive approachFamiliarity with lean and agile R&D methodologies and an IPMA C certification (or equivalent) are beneficialTo succeed in the role, your personal skills are:
