We invite you to become part of our professional community – let us achieve success together.As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Specialist to join our Faculty of Technology in a permanent position. The role focuses on the following area of expertise: data management and analytics.The Faculty of Technology at LAB University of Applied Sciences is actively engaged in research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities. In the role of an RDI Specialist, you will collaborate closely with LAB’s research groups and technology teams, particularly in the fields of bio and circular economy as well as the digitalization of the built environment.You will also participate in multidisciplinary projects that span LAB’s other areas of expertise, including health and wellbeing technologies. Our research and development work has a highly applied focus. That is, you will be involved in implementing, for example, technology pilots and rapid experiments to meet the needs of industry and our research initiatives.Key responsibilities include:

• Working as a specialist in LAB’s RDI projects and other activities
• Developing data management practices as well as methods and tools for data analysis for research purposes
• Contributing to the preparation and planning of project proposals
• Active participation in LAB’s publication activities in connection with research projects

We expect you to have:

• A relevant Master’s degree
• At least five years of experience in managing and developing data analytics processes and/or in research and development related to data platforms
• Familiarity with data platforms and information systems
• Programming skills, e.g., in C++, Python and/or SQL
• Knowledge of digital twins and XR technologies is considered an asset
• Strong proficiency in both English and Finnish, along with teamwork skills

Start date and other constraints: The successful candidate would ideally join us on October 1, 2025, or as agreed. Your home campus will be either Lahti or Lappeenranta. The role requires occasional travelling.Salary and terms of employment are determined according to by Sivistysala ry. The position offers a contractual salary in the range of approximately 3800 – 4400 € per month, depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.
