The main duty of this role is to conduct research within the area of Clean and Equitable Transportation and the CLEETS NSF-UKRI Global Centre (https://www.cleets-global-center.org/) and contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University, carrying out research leading to the publishing of high-quality research. To pursue excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for 36 months or until 30 November 2028, whichever is soonest.Salary: £40,247 – £45,163 per annum (Grade 6). 1. Postgraduate degree at PhD level (or nearing submission) in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or related filed, or relevant work experience in power systemsKnowledge, Skills and Experience
1. An established expertise and proven portfolio of research within the following research fields:
a. Power system analysis including experience of the impact of electric vehicle charging on the grid.
b. Experience with scenario-based modelling
c. Experience with integration of electricity and transport networks
d. Power system and transport data analysis including experience with load forecasting
e. Experience in performing modelling studies working with software packages (e.g. DigSilent, Neplan, Matalb, IPSA, AnyLogic)
2. Knowledge of the current status of research in specialist field
3. Proven ability to publish in national/international journals, national/international conferences and/or other research outputs.
4. Knowledge and understanding of competitive research funding to be able to develop applications to funding bodies as necessaryCommunication and Team Working
5. Proven ability in effective and persuasive written and verbal communication
6. Ability to supervise the work of others to focus team efforts and motivate individualsOther
7. Proven ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and team-working within work
8. Proven ability to work without close supervision, personally organising and leading on tasks
