Location: Poland (Trzemeszno) OR Finland (Parainen)About the positionWe are looking for an experienced R&D Engineer to join our team in either Poland or Finland. The primary goal of this role is to both contribute and lead market inspired product development projects in collaboration with internal and external partners. You will develop new insulation solutions to better serve our customers. You will, as well be responsible for enhancing the performance of existing products with the aim to offer more sustainable and inventive products to the market and to support Owens Corning’s sustainability aspiration. Additionally, providing expert services based on material properties, particularly in the field of stone wool insulation. Depending on your aspiration and experience, people leadership can be a responsibility area of this role.In this position you will benefit from the local team support while being part of the Global Science & Technology organization. Success in this position demands a result-oriented and innovative mindset, with the ability to leverage long-term company benefits. Effective intra- and interdisciplinary communication within the company and with external parties is crucial. Key internal stakeholders include business unit strategic marketing teams and quality assurance, while external networks consist of research facilities, development partners, and suppliers.What does success look like?

• Timely and efficient completion of development projects, both as a leader and a team member
• Creation of new insulation products and enhancement of existing ones
• Providing high-quality expert services based on material properties, particularly in stone wool insulation
• Seamless intra- and interdisciplinary communication within the company and with external partners

Skills and capabilities necessary to succeed

• Strong skills in managing and executing development projects
• Deep knowledge of material properties, especially stone wool insulation.
• Ability to foster and implement innovative ideas
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Curiosity and will to grow
• Flexibility to travel and work with different teams across various locations

Business requirements

• M.Sc. or PhD in building technology, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or material technology
• Experience in industrial, project-structured R&D environment
• Experience in Manufacturing or Building Materials is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in English, local language is a plus
• Expected travel 20%
