This long established and successful company is looking for a Research Software Engineer to join their forward-looking Innovation team. This group focuses on high-impact research and early-stage prototyping. In this role you will help develop these experimental research projects into production-ready products.The company provides integrated modelling software to clients around the world, ranging from small start-ups to multinational corporations. They are financially secure and looking to expand into the pharmaceutical and banking industries amongst others. Their technical staff are all highly qualified, many of them with PhDs, so you will be working alongside experts in their fields with plenty of opportunities to continue developing your skills.Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience translating prototype scientific code into performant, production ready software
• Strong knowledge of at least one high-level scientific language (Python, Julia, R, etc) AND strong knowledge of at least one compiled system language (C++, C#, Fortran, etc)
• PhD in a technical field such as Physics, Engineering, Maths or Computer Science (a Master’s with highly relevant commercial experience will also be considered)
• Full rights to work in the UK without limitation

While not required, any additional experience with digital twins, machine learning, reinforcement learning or agentic systems within a scientific context would be beneficial.On offer is a very competitive salary and attractive benefits package including medical insurance and generous pension scheme.
