The Opportunity:Avantor is looking for a proactive and equipment-savvy Research Technician (Flow Cytometry) to join our team based in Mölndal, Sweden. In this position, you’ll support the flow cytometry core facility, ensuring the smooth operation of advanced instruments and supporting scientific teams with high-quality data generation for drug development programs.This full-time permanent position is based at the AstraZeneca site in Gothenburg. - Education: Degree in medical technology, chemical biology, physical science, or a related field
- Experience:
- Solid understanding of flow cytometry principles and instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong interest in lab instrumentation and how it functions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data presentation tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus
How you’ll thrive and create an impact
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot flow cytometry instruments, ensuring optimal performance through daily start-up, quality control, and monthly deep cleaning.
- Provide technical support and training to researchers on flow cytometry equipment, protocols, and best practices to ensure high-quality data generation.
- Assist with cell sorting and analysis, contributing to experimental workflows and supporting the development and standardisation of cytometry protocols.
- Monitor and manage flow cytometry-related reagents and consumables, ensuring continuous availability and supporting procurement processes.
- Collaborate with technical support providers and internal teams to maintain equipment functionality, resolve issues promptly, and uphold a safe, compliant lab environment.
