  • At least 75% of your assignment will be spent on academic research into baukultur (building culture) and heritage practices in the recent past (1970s-today). The focus of your research contribution is the study of existing, and the development of new methods for ‘controversy mapping’ to document and analyse debates and practices in architecture and heritage.
  • Up to 25% of your time will be spent on scientific communication among project partners and project management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Architecture or in Engineering: Architecture; also Master’s degrees in other relevant domains (like Urbanism, (Art) History, Heritage Studies, …, will be considered if the candidates can demonstrate affinity with postwar and contemporary architecture)
  • You have experience with publishing about architecture, urbanism or built heritage
  • You have experience with graphic representation, visualisation, or exhibiting architecture or urban heritage
  • You can work independently and you take initiative
  • You have excellent communication skills in English. Active command of either Dutch or French, and basic knowledge of French or Dutch resp., are advantages.
  • You are living in Belgium or are ready to stay in Belgium during the research.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of 3 months.
  • Your contract will start on 1/02/2025 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).
