Job Title: Safeguarding Researcher – MASHSalary: The starting salary is £34,808 which includes allowances totalling £2,928.The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: Multiple locations available across London.Our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH) are expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity to join one of our pan-London teams as a Safeguarding Researcher.This is an exciting time to be working as a safeguarding researcher for the Metropolitan Police Service. In addition to large-scale transformation, there is the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London. This means that as a researcher, there are opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police Service.Role:Researchers support the MASH by providing research for cases involving children and adults where there are safeguarding concerns and Children’s or Adult’s Social Care need to be notified so that they can ensure the right interventions are made.The role involves researching children and adults using police systems, and providing a summary of relevant information found. This is a key part of the process ensuring that the decision maker has the right information to risk assess the case and share what we know with partners to help them to decide what action they may need to take to keep that person safe.You will need to be able to work methodically, conducting thorough and detailed searches and be able to prioritise your workload within this extremely busy environment. This will include a number of administrative tasks and use of Police Systems.Key responsibilities:
