Job description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance and tax regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role is based fully onsite in Meath.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Revenue requirements, and relevant legislation
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and month-end close processes
- Oversee VAT returns, PAYE/PRSI submissions, Tax filings
- Weekly payroll
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Supervision of finance staff
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial systems and controls
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA)
- Minimum 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Irish tax, accounting standards, and financial reporting
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
