We are looking for a colleague to work for our International Digital News Department as a Senior Backend Engineer in Istanbul.Job Description

• Design, develop and maintain backend systems using modern programming languages and frameworks,

• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure the seamless integration of backend systems with frontend applications,

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices,

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues,

• Implement performance optimizations to ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems,

• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in backend development,

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of our infrastructure with third-party services for Node.js applications,

• Mentor and guide junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field,

• Minimum 7 years of experience in backend development,

• Strong proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language, including Python, Go, or Node.js,

• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB),

• Advanced knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, GIT, and Agile methodologies,

• Working knowledge of CI/CD practices,

• Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work as part of other development and product management team,
