Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a young, aggressively growing shipping and fuel trading/brokerage business as they launch their new European office in Copenhagen, Denmark in addition to their existing operation in Dubai.Future office openings globally in 2025/26 will propel people joining them now into significant positions of responsibility as they continue to grow. Our client offers a direct percentage based payout on both trading and brokerage business in all of their asset classes, and is a true believer in meritocracy, with a policy of offering growth and promotions to internal personnel, never hiring management from external sources.If you are currently trading marine fuels/bunkers/cargo in the European markets, and have frustrations around growth/progression opportunity, or live with a poorly defined/discretionary bonus system, we would love to speak to you. Our client offers an excellent credit line and financing set up through their internal capital department, and a plethora of in-house benefits through traditional compensation metrics and additional benefits packages.You will be:

• Establishing your existing back to back trading client base into the firm and work to build a broad bunker and marine fuel trading business in the Danish/wider European marketplace
• Responding rapidly to bunker enquiries and pricing requests, facilitating trading opportunities
• Trade both truck and barge market in the European region
• Sourcing bunker and marine fuel, MGO, LSFO, Fuel Oil, Lubricants for shipowners, Charterers, Operators etc.
• Maintaining an active client portfolio for the sale and trading of the above products
• Keeping up to date with market news, commentary and analysis to capitalise on trading opportunity in the marine fuels space
• Negotiate contracts for spot trade of bunker fuel
• Work with senior management on desk expansion and growth in the mid-term, growing a wider bunker trading presence and business for the organisation
• Where applicable, attending industry events and conferences for networking/business development purposes

We would love to speak to you if you have:

• 3+ years’ experience in a bunker/marine fuel trader/trading position
• Network of suppliers and customers in the bunker fuel space
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of fuel types, operations and financing
• A solid commercial acumen, with a focus on timely and efficient expansion of the business pool
• The ability to work in Denmark (Copenhagen)
