We are working with a leading engineering consultancy on their search for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Galway.The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for the technical and financial delivery of the project.Why apply with Sonas?

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and allocate resources for projects in consultation with the relevant Operations Director, overseeing their management effectively.
• Implement Quality Management processes covering all project aspects, including QMS/EMS/OHSAS adherence.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, encompassing project-related Health and Safety and BCAR obligations.
• Manage cash flow based on project milestones, issue accurate and reliable invoices, follow up with clients on payment, and oversee project debtors.
• Facilitate communication with clients, internally with Operations Directors/Managers, and within the project team.
• Establish a comprehensive project brief, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and secure Client acceptance of Terms & Conditions through signed contracts or fee agreements.
• Develop an agreed project schedule in collaboration with the Client.
• Clarify roles, budgets (hours and expenses), and responsibilities for all team members.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures when engaging sub-consultants.
• Verify that all designs are prepared by competent personnel, and conduct independent checks before submission to the Client.

Requirements

• Level 8 qualification in Engineering
• Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the conditions of engagement
• Excellent working knowledge of construction contracts such as the Forms of Contract used under the Public Works Management Framework.
