Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.We have one of the most ambitious capital investment programmes anywhere in the NHS.Job overviewPlease see the attached JD/PS for full descriptionsThe post-holder will be assigned to one or two cancer tumour-type teams at any one time, working closely with a team of oncology consultants. Post-holders will rotate through a variety of tumour types over time and are encouraged to document their achievements and progress. A consultant will be assigned as your supervisor to oversee your progress. The post will be largely outpatient based with up to four oncology clinics a week supervised by our consultants. Post-holders will be trained to prescribe systemic anti-cancer treatments and to manage toxicities. The post-holder will participate in clinical, research and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care. This will include scheduled working on the oncology wards and the Acute Oncology Assessment Unit (AOAU). There are opportunities to be sub-investigators on clinical trials and work on clinical audits and quality improvement projects. Leadership opportunities are also available. The post-holder will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. A comprehensive weekly teaching programme is available including tumour-specific teaching and a journal club. Patients from across South East London attends for treatment which is not available at their local hospital.
