About the team you are joiningReporting to the Head Data Engineering and Operations, the Senior Data Architect will be responsible for defining and driving the technical architecture for data across IATA. This role acts as a domain expert and key representative of the Data Team within the IATA Enterprise Architecture community. You will ensure that data capabilities are aligned with the IATA Data Strategy and business goals, scalable across the organization, and future-proofed for innovation and compliance.What your day would be like

• Define and implement a scalable, secure enterprise data architecture that supports IATA’s strategic priorities and operational needs.
• Document IATA’s technical standards in the area and drive their adoption internally and with external partners delivering solutions on our technical stack.
• As a Data Domain Architect, represent the Data Team within IATA’s Enterprise Architecture framework, ensure alignment with architecture standards, promote the IATA Data Strategy, and contribute to solution design documentation from a data perspective.
• Design and optimize the architecture of IATA’s data systems including data collection, data transformation, data distribution, analytics and master data management components.
• Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, data governance specialists, and business stakeholders to define data flows, system interfaces, data integration and consumption patterns.
• Partner with the Data Governance team to embed data privacy, quality, and compliance principles into architectural blueprints.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and platforms to shape IATA’s evolving data ecosystem.
• Provide subject matter expertise on data to the wider IT architecture community and other technical teams across the organization.

We would love to hear from you if

• A Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hand on technical experience in data solution architecture, including experience in designing and building modern cloud based data solutions across the data consumption, integration and distribution spectrum.
• A deep understanding of architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), data governance, and enterprise data strategy.
• Proven expertise in cloud-native data platforms (AWS – must, Snowflake and Azure), and familiarity with data integration and orchestration tools.
• Experience with business intelligence tools and ETL technologies.
• Ability to collaborate and excel in complex, cross-functional teams involving technical staff, data scientists, business analysts and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
