As Senior Digital Editor, you will lead the creation and delivery of audience-first content across our website, email and digital platforms.This is a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, consistency and accessibility of our online presence – particularly during a critical phase of digital transformation involving a major CMS migration and site optimisation project. You’ll bring specialist CMS expertise and a strong content design mindset to ensure our digital experience reflects our brand and mission while working effectively across multiple internal teams and workstreams.You will be responsible for:

  • Leading digital content production and optimisation for Marie Curie’s main website and email channels.
  • Acting as the lead CMS editor, supporting the transition to a unified platform and managing workflows, permissions and governance across a complex content landscape.
  • Collaborating closely with the digital development team to report, track and help resolve bugs and technical issues.
  • Playing a central role in digital working groups, ensuring content consistency and alignment across multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Applying UX and content design principles to improve the structure, accessibility and performance of digital content.
  • Championing SEO best practice in partnership with our SEO and analytics teams.
  • Advising on content standards and supporting colleagues across the organisation to maintain high editorial quality.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing and sub-editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy across digital content formats.
  • Proven ability to craft, review, and optimise content for clarity, tone, and audience engagement across web, email, and various other platforms.
  • Deep experience using content management systems – ideally including Strapi, with a strong grasp of digital production workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage content through CMS migrations and complex website structures.
  • Sound knowledge of SEO, UX and content design, and a data-informed approach to content improvement.
  • Experience working alongside developers to support bug fixing, testing and optimisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, particularly in fast-paced, multi-team environments.
  • Prior experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is a plus.
