We re-invent flying and make individual air mobility as normal as driving a car – opening the sky for everyone.Job DescriptionWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Flight Physics Engineer to join our growing start-up company in the aviation industry. You will support the Flight Physics team in activities related to aerodynamics & aeroacoustics, flight performance and loads & aeroelastics.As a Senior Flight Performance Engineer, you will:

• Generate knowledge on cyclorotor aerodynamic & aeroacoustic performance using numerical CFD simulations & experimental data
• Gather knowledge on the performance of air vehicles equipped with cyclorotors from numerical simulations & experimental data
• Support the planning, preparation and conduction of aerodynamic & aeroacoustic performance measurements of cyclorotor prototypes on our in-house test bench as well as in external wind tunnels
• Support the planning, preparation and conduction of (performance) measurements of air vehicles equipped with cyclorotors
• Post-process and analyze the results of in-house & wind tunnel experiments
• Contribute to the flight performance analysis of air vehicles equipped with cyclorotors
• Contribute to the analysis of cyclorotors in terms of loads & aeroelasticity
• Draw conclusions from the obtained results and present them to the relevant stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with latest developments on Flight Physics topics and certification regulations

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field with specialization in aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, flight performance or aeroelasticity
• More than 10 years of relevant work experience in the aerospace industry in flight physics topics
• Excellent knowledge of (unsteady) aerodynamics and aircraft performance
• Good knowledge of aeroacoustics and aeroelasticity
• Knowledge about certification regulations related to performance and loads & aeroelasticity would be an asset
• Extensive experience in (wind tunnel) experiments preparation, conduction, post-processing and analysis
• Experience with aeroacoustic numerical simulations & experiments
• Experience with loads & aeroelastic calculations
• Very proficient with Python and Linux-based environments
• Can-do attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
• Analytical and when needed, critical, mindset as well as an out-of-the box way of thinking
• Collaborative and communicative attitude with strong interpersonal skills
• Passion for innovating the aviation industry with new technologies and eVTOL aircraft
• Excellent English language skills
