The successful candidate should have at least 6 years of similar experience, be up-to-date with modern frontend technologies, a passion for building intuitive web experiences and will thrive in a high performance, fast paced, ambitious and fun environment.This is more than a technical role, you will be contributing to the overall product development effort. Your experience will inform our engineering process and decisions when building new features.You’ll be part of one of our multi-functional product delivery teams and will work closely with designers, product owners, quality engineers, and multi-disciplined developers.What will I be doingFrontend Engineers are a crucial part of the Distilled Product Delivery Teams. Working closely with the design team, we implement responsive user interfaces, using modern libraries and frameworks, such as React, Typescript and NextJS.As a Frontend Engineer at Distilled you will:Take responsibility for defining and delivering the solutions for complex features for the Daft platformWork independently and mentor junior team members successfullyBuild efficient and reusable frontend systems for the Distilled platformsCollaborate with Designers to build web apps that prioritise intuitive usability and align with design systemsAlways strive to ensure our codebase is clean, scalable and secureBe an advocate for coding standards within the teamKeep abreast of new technologies and techniques in frontend developmentWhat skills and experience do I needAt least 6 years demonstrated ability in a similar roleExcellent HTML, CSS and Javascript skills. Experience with Typescript is also highly desirable.Significant experience delivering fully responsive web solutions using mobile first techniques and React framework.Experience working with Next.js and Restful APIsUnit and integration testing experience using tools such as Playwright and JestA self-starter with an analytical approach who is comfortable working on their own initiative and handling their time effectively.Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills.A passion for technology and a hunger to adopt new industry trends.Advantage if you haveGood understanding and experience with NodeJSWeb app performance experienceJS bundler experience (webpack)Experience with Styled Components or StorybookExperience working with monoreposExperience working with design systems to build reusable componentsA degree or masters in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.What’s it like to work hereYou will have the opportunity to work with one of Ireland’s fastest growing Internet companies.
