Boliden Mines staff function has approximately 300 employees and includes, among other departments: HR & Sustainability, Finance, Technology, Business Development and Exploration.About the roleAs a Senior Geophysicist at the Exploration Geophysics department, you will work in a team of geophysicists, geologists, exploration technicians and development engineers.Your primary responsibilities will include planning, executing, and overseeing geophysical survey campaigns, followed by the processing, securing, and modeling of data in alignment with Boliden’s standards.You will also have the opportunity to lead geophysical investigations within your designated project areas, leveraging your specialized skills to evaluate and report findings in accordance with Boliden’s standards.Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute to the development of geophysical methods and instruments within the department.Collaboration is central to Boliden’s culture. In this senior role, you will mentor and provide guidance to fellow geophysicists, geologists, field technicians, contractors, and consultants, ensuring a supportive and collaborative working environment.Education and experienceMaster’s degree in Geosciences5-10 years of professional experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on geophysicsGood understanding of the use of potential field and electromagnetic methods in mineral explorationHands-on experience conducting field campaign and operating geophysical instrumentsProficient in geophysical data processing, modeling and interpretation experienceFamiliarity with industry-standard geophysics software (e.g. Geosoft, Maxwell, Geoscience Analyst)Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English.Problem-solving abilities, results-driven, and attention to detailCollaborative team player, flexibility and cultural adaptabilityA valid driver’s license and ability to travel as requiredAssestsIn-depth knowledge and experience with electrical and seismic methods.Expertise in petrophysics, enhancing understanding of subsurface properties.Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for geophysical data processing and analysis.LocationThe head office resides in the small town of Boliden, Sweden, but living options expand to several nearby villages, towns and cities.
