Description and requirementsSkanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.We are seeking a Senior Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our Building team based on a large scale commercial project in London.The successful candidate will support the delivery of one or two major construction projects in Central London. These schemes are valued at £200m and above and involve complex construction methodologies including demolition, refurbishment, high-rise, and fit-out. This role supports the Project HSW Manager and plays a key part in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing are embedded across all project activitiesWhat you’ll do:
- Advise and support all project staff on HSW using the OWOW system.
- Collaborate with procurement, design, and commercial teams to embed HSW practices.
- Ensure compliance with company HSW policies and legal requirements.
- Support the Project HSW Manager in developing and reviewing project HSW plans alongside the operations team.
- Provide competent advice to all key stakeholders including the project leadership team.
- Lead on client HSW reporting and performance metrics.
- Manage and lead on incident reporting and follow-up using OSHENS. This include supporting and leading complex investigations, incident review panels and contractor debrief and close out sessions.
- Conduct site inspections and participate in level 3 and level 4 audits.
- Support the maintenance of the project’s HSW competency matrix and readily flag anomalies or skill gaps with the Project HSW Manager & Operations Teams.
- Support the subcontractor pre-start process and ensure embedment of key project rules.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Proven track record in a similar in a health, safety, and wellbeing role.
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5+ in Occupational Health & Safety (or working towards).
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Tech IOSH or equivalent (working towards Chartered status).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
