These products are key enablers of our digital transformation—unlocking the ability to build scalable ML solutions and digital use cases by leveraging data across the organization. They help our business functions make data-driven decisions using predictive and prescriptive analytics to forecast outcomes and guide decisions.As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will use data to design, develop, test, validate, deploy, and operate machine learning solutions. You’ll ensure these solutions are reliable, secure, and integrated into enterprise IT environments. You will also participate in peer reviews and continuously improve solutions based on performance in production.We’re looking for an enthusiastic team member eager to grow professionally, learn new skills, and contribute to team success. You should take a self-driven, proactive approach—finding and implementing solutions, solving problems, and sharing learnings with others. We value people who enjoy teamwork, are comfortable stepping outside their comfort zone, and who actively support and collaborate with others.To succeed in this role, the following experience will be key:Education:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., machine learning, computer science, physics, statistics, mathematics).

Experience:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in ML, data science, and software development.

Cloud & Tools:

• Proven experience applying advanced analytics, ML and AI to real-world business problems using cloud technology at scale.
• Proficiency with Databricks for ML and data science applications. Familiarity with workflow orchestration, Unity Catalog, Spark (PySpark), and MLflow. Certifications are a plus.
• Experience with AWS (certifications preferred).
• Familiarity with GitLab/GitHub, Airflow, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.

Programming & MLOps:

• Strong skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and MLOps practices across the full solution lifecycle.
• Ability to write maintainable code and apply software testing practices.

Security & Compliance:

• Understanding of cybersecurity guidelines, and data privacy and compliance regulations.
• Documentation & Design:
• Skilled in writing clear technical documentation and visualizing technical designs.

Language:

• Fluent in English with excellent communication and facilitation skills.

This role will allow you to leverage the following skills:Leadership & Collaboration:

• Act as a go-to expert in ML engineering—promoting innovation and applying new methods.
• Identify, design and implement improvements in ML engineering processes (e.g., automation, optimized data delivery, scalable infrastructure).
• Ensure solutions follow industry best practices and align with KONE’s technical design principles and CI/CD standards.
• Conduct quality actions like code reviews and mentor team members.
• Demonstrate strong process and data knowledge for your business domain.
• Take on additional responsibilities (e.g., Scrum Master, task force leader, defect triage coordinator).
• Coach and mentor junior developers and engineers.
