Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Senior Manager, Medical AffairsUK (Remote)Closing date – 27th MarchThe roleIllumina is seeking a Sr Medical Affairs Manager (Genetic Disease Testing & Reproductive Health) in Europe, that will work with the Medical Org functions, Core R&D, Marketing and regional teams in Europe to drive clinical evidence generation, healthcare education and scientific communication. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies of Illumina’s Medical Affairs team in Europe, with a strong focus on United Kingdom, Ireland and Scandinavia/Benelux, reporting into Head of GDT & RH – Europe, Medical Affairs.The goal is to enhance clinical NGS adoption, implementation in patient care and improved patient outcomes.Why usIllumina’s employee benefits are industry-leading and include flexible time off, private medical insurance, compassion and care time off, leisure travel insurance, pension, employee stock purchasing program, volunteer time off, and much more!Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Market Access, Strategic Growth, Government Affairs, Global Medical Affairs) to identify and execute opportunities for clinical evidence generation and healthcare educational programs to expedite market access and adoption.

• Work with local/regional teams to identify and qualify evidence generation opportunities according to global and regional priorities.

• Liaise between functional units to build cross-functional teams for successful implementation of clinical studies and educational programs.

• Define and communicate priorities and key deliverables for Medical Affairs in individual studies.

• Partner with Marketing and other departments to co-develop scientific and clinical communication packages based on study outcomes and literature, demonstrating clinical utility and performance excellence.

• Drive interaction with cross-functional teams to develop and oversee a cohesive plan for in-region clinical strategy development.

• Provide Medical Affairs support for Illumina technology development and validation, including in vitro diagnostic tests and strategic partner assays.

• Guide regional partners to ensure compliant execution of clinical projects involving healthcare providers and institutions.

• Ensure regional compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and clinical performance study guidelines and regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

• Required at least 3 years of clinical genomics experience in hereditary disease, reproductive genetics, or population screening

• Ability to operate with a strong business mindset and make effective decisions, or decision recommendations to local teams.

• Results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills, capable of working independently yet collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage scientific and clinical projects.

• Proactive, problem-solving / critical thinker, focus on outcomes.

• Ability to successfully influence and manage cross-functional teams in matrix organizations.

• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to relay vision/strong sense of department organization, processes, and change to management and staff.

• Ability to travel at least 40%

• Excellent English (written, oral) mandatory. Additional language skills are valued.

• Ability to independently deliver quality results in a timely manner.

Preferred Experience/Education:

• PhD, PharmD or MD degree or equivalent and ample work experience in the genetic testing area outside of academia
