Job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join us in a full-time role and drive our commitment to workplace safety.Role OverviewProvide expert guidance and proactive leadership in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) practices, ensuring our organization meets and exceeds safety standards and regulatory obligations.Core Responsibilities
- Spearhead safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness, risk evaluation, and compliance with chemical safety standards.
- Manage and maintain performance metrics, records, and documentation in alignment with ISO45001:2018 standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison to external regulatory bodies, representing our organization with integrity and professionalism.
- Ensure legal compliance through active involvement with local and national government health and safety bodies.
- Track EHS performance indicators to gauge and improve the impact of health and safety measures.
- Oversee chemical handling and hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance with regulations while optimizing efficiency and cost.
- Collaborate with supervisors, management, and leadership teams to identify and mitigate key health and safety risks.
- Support EHS training and facilitate internal committees to enhance safety practices across the organization.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation, ensuring readiness for EHS inspections and audits.
- Investigate and document incidents, injuries, health issues, and corrective actions as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8, 240 credits) in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience, ideally within the medical device sector or a senior EHS position.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation with the ability to translate regulatory information into practical business policies.
- Hands-on experience with HSE management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven track record of strategic thinking and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated success in implementing and managing high-performance programs and promoting a culture of safety.
