If you are looking for interesting challenges and the opportunity to be part of this change, then join our diverse and talented team and make a difference.Our Business Area (BA) Markets is looking for the right person to fill the position asSenior Operational Risk Managerfor our offices in Hamburg or Stockholm.You will help the Operational Risk and Algo Oversight (ORAO) team to strengthen and evolve the culture of risk management within BA Markets. This will involve the design, development, and monitoring of our internal risk and control frameworks in line with industry best practice, internal policies and of course legal and regulatory requirements.In a nutshell, you will help to:

  • Ensure that BA Markets has effective and robust risk and control frameworks in place to manage operational risks, incidents, and algorithmic trading-specific risks, enabling risk owners to effectively manage their risks and make informed risk/reward decisions.

You will join a small team of operational risk specialists and will be involved in all activities within the team. The team is diverse and split across locations but operate as one team. We are close working, collaborative and like to be creative and would like you to fit into this way of working.The role will involve advising various senior stakeholders on operational risks the company faces.Main tasks & responsibilities:In a Trading and Asset optimization business it is key to know and manage your risks and as an Operational Risk Manager you are working close to the Business operations of the Business Area assessing and analysing operational risks and investigating incidents to drive improvements of our routines and controls.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the analysis of operational risk incidents and drive corrective actions
  • Lead and perform risk assessment and analysis activities and propose appropriate mitigations
  • Design, develop and communicate risk related reports for different levels of the organization to help improve transparency and drive decision making
  • Continuous development of the Operational Risk framework in BA Markets
  • Support the team with the development of the Algorithmic trading control frameworks.

QualificationsQualifications

  • Our successful candidate has a relevant financial/technical/engineering degree or equivalent (e.g. IT related, Mathematics, Economics, Risk Management or other relevant subjects)
  • Over 5 years’ experience in Energy, financial companies or similar
  • Good understanding of risk management frameworks and best practices. Including Experience of Risk management and assessment, operational risk incident management and analysis (e.g. this may include designing tools and processes, implementing and embedding risk frameworks, and delivering high-quality risk insights, reporting, and transparency.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. (If you also speak Swedish and/or German it is an asset but not a requirement)
  • Understanding of the Energy business in general and Energy Trading in particular is an advantage
  • 2nd line of defense knowledge is an advantage.
