Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Senior Principal Statistical Methodologist to join us in our Biometrics & Data Sciences team, based in any of our Brussels (Belgium), Monheim (Germany) or Slough (UK) offices.About the roleThis position serves as an influential statistical consultant and technical leader across all statistical groups and therapy areas. Will possess expertise in a unique and relevant area of statistical methodology, preferably Bayesian statistics, or have breadth of knowledge across a range of advanced statistical methodologies.Who you’ll work withYou will report into the Head of Statistical InnovationWhat you’ll do

• Serves as a statistical consultant across therapy areas and practices and drives the development and implementation of innovative study designs that will help accelerate the development process.
• Support the development, assessment and introduction of new statistical technology, methodology and platforms, including statistical model-based drug development approaches using frequentist and particularly Bayesian methodologies.
• Performs as a highly competent and experienced biostatistician by functioning as a technical resource and internal statistical consultant across therapy areas, and as a coach/mentor to BDS staff.
• As needed, carries out, or supervises, advanced statistical analyses to address complex design problems across therapy areas, for instance, performing complex simulations to determine sample size and power considerations for different study design options.
• Stays current with ongoing developments in statistical methods applications in the pharmaceutical industry.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

• PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar scientific discipline required.
• Several years working in biostatistics within industry with Pharma (CRO) experience with a proven successful track record in pharmaceutical development and statistical methodology and computing.
• Publications and academic track record.
• Outstanding statistical engineering competencies including computational data science and IT infrastructure.
• Able to serve as a senior statistical and computational consultant for biostatisticians in BDS and across therapy areas and practices.
• Able to conduct independent quantitative research.
