IATA is more than a trade association; it is a vision of a better future for air travel.About the team you are joiningReporting to the Senior Product Manager FuelIS and SafetyIS, the incumbent will be responsible for the delivery and commercial performance of CO2 emissions data services.The CO2 emissions data services include IATA CO2 Connect for both passenger and cargo, and were developed by IATA as part of IATA’s mission to support the sustainable development of air transport, and mitigate its impact on environment by standardizing and harmonizing the calculation of CO2 data.What your day would be like

  • Launching CO2 Connect for cargo as a commercial service to meet commercial targets. P&L responsibility including forecasting & budgeting
  • Ongoing market evaluation and positioning of the existing CO2 Connect products to ensure it’s positioned with a strong USP (unique selling proposition)
  • Ensuring airlines remain at the core of CO2 Connect’s future strategy, with increased data contribution and distribution of data to 3rd parties
  • Working internationally with IATA’s Environment and Commercial teams to ensure engagement and support with clients
  • Responsible for product pricing, competitive landscape monitoring and commercial strategy
  • Responsible for business development, market outreach and commercial negotiations
  • Product management for future enhancements, writing Business Requirements, briefing technical teams (I&D) on requirements, and ensuring the new enhancements are launched on time, within budget and well received by customers
  • Responsible for setting and managing the overall commercial engagement plan with future partners
  • Attending promotional events as required to position the product and gain commercial traction in the market
  • Coordination with Aviation Data/Environment SMEs and business owners to facilitate the development of new products and product synergies
  • Contribute to the overall Commercial Products and Services strategy and growth

We would love to hear from you if you have

  • A university degree, preferably in aviation, business or environmental studies, with at least seven (7) years of product management and business development experience, specifically in the travel management or aviation sustainability domains.
  • An excellent understanding of the travel management industry, key workflows, IT systems and players
  • A good understanding of sustainability activities in the travel management sector (CO2 emissions tracking, offsetting, SAF)
  • A well-developed network of contacts within the travel management/aviation sectors (TMCs, OTAs, OBTs, GDSs, airlines, corporate buyers etc.) is a major asset
  • You are well organized and have a structured approach to product management
  • You have a good understanding of data management, and IT system interfaces
