Role: Senior Project Manager – Balance of Plant (BoP) – Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station ProjectLocation: North-West Bristol, close to M4/M5 motorway junctionSalary: Highly competitive + benefits including 10% bonus, 15% client pension contribution, private healthcare, £1500/year flex benefits fund + 28 days holiday.Type: PermanentStart: June 2025 onwards (long notice-period accepted)Our client, Sizewell C, is looking for a Senior Project Management professional with a strong technical background and a track record of delivering high-value parts of major / mega regulated industry (ideally nuclear) projects to take on the key leadership role of Senior Project Manager – Balance of Plant (BoP) supporting their new nuclear power station construction project.Prior nuclear industry experience would be preferred, whilst previous experience supporting the BoP scope of nuclear industry projects would be advantageous. Candidates with prior EPR project experience would be of particular interest to the client.The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end EPCC delivery of a selection (circa 3 buildings) of the buildings in the BOP sub-programme (total value up to £500m) including any contracts within those buildings (nodes) with line responsibility of 2 or 3 project managers. In addition to the Project Managers who will directly report to them, the Senior Project Manager will have to manage a matrix team of other disciplines forming the project delivery team (eg: the SZC supply chain team, the Responsible Designer (RD), the SZC quality team and suppliers).Whilst a proven background in Project Management is preferred, candidates from a non-PM background (e.g. Sr Engineering Manager) would be happily considered if they possess a strong EPR project background.This will be a hybrid role (3-4 days/week in the office) based mainly out of the client’s north-west Bristol office located close to the M4/M5 motorway junction. • Define the work scope to be delivered within the contracts or packages of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme
• Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team
• Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed. The PEP sets out the “why”, “what”, “how”, “when” and “who” for the delivery of the programme
• Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and execute the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work
• Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme – track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters
