For more information, visit our company’s website atAbout the roleWe are seeking dedicated individuals for our teams that center around Provet Cloud, our cloud-based veterinary practice management software ( ). Provet Cloud is designed to help veterinary practitioners save time so they can devote more attention to caring for their patients and to make managing a veterinary practice more efficient and simpler. It offers features for appointment scheduling, electronic medical records, inventory management, billing, and communication within the veterinary team.We are looking for two German-speaking Senior Python Backend Developers who can help us to implement new functionalities and build an API interface around Provet Cloud that will be used by our new frontend written in Vue.js. This role also includes working with legacy Python/Django code, improve it and rewrite.This is a unique opportunity to join our team and contribute to enhancing the efficiency and simplicity of veterinary practice management through Provet Cloud! 🚀Your key responsibilities include:Develop and maintain scalable Python applications for the SaaS platform.Collaborate on architecture and design for optimal solutions.Conduct code reviews, implement automated testing, and ensure code quality.Optimize performance and troubleshoot technical issues.Integrate third-party services and develop APIs for seamless integration.Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.Implement security best practices and ensure compliance.Document code, processes, and procedures.Stay updated on Python and SaaS industry trends for innovation.What will help you to be successful in this role?Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company. Additionally:

• Successfully navigating the challenges of managing legacy code while enhancing and maintaining the SaaS platform’s functionality is crucial for the Senior Python Developer role. This includes understanding the existing codebase, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes effectively.
• Building new APIs to support frontend requirements is another key success factor. This involves designing APIs that meet the needs of the frontend while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
• Additionally, the ability to refactor code to improve maintainability, scalability, and performance is essential. This may involve restructuring code, optimizing algorithms, and implementing best practices to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform.
• Defining clear and proper interfaces for modules is also critical for success. This includes establishing consistent communication protocols and data formats to facilitate collaboration and maintainability within the development team.

In addition, our humble wishlist includes:Strong proficiency in Python programming language, including libraries and frameworks, especially Django.Experience in developing and maintaining SaaS applications, and ability to design scalable and reliable software solutions.Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with Product Management teams.Experience with Docker and containerization of servicesKnowledge of software development methodologies, such as AgileProficiency in working with relational and NoSQL databases.Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and code quality assurance.Ability to identify and address performance bottlenecks.Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting technical issues.Eagerness to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.Full proficiency in both German English.Having one or more of these skills will help in succeeding in this role:Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.Experience with development of cloud-based solutionsExperience with AWS services like Lambda, ECS, EKS or App RunnerExperience working with Agile teamsExperience with payment systems is a plus, for one of our core teamsWhat’s in it for you?At Nordhealth, we do things a little bit differently.
