In this role, you will play a crucial role in shaping sensory evaluation sessions by carefully preparing samples, overseeing the sensory lab, and organizing sensory panel sessions according to project requirements. Furthermore, you will be tasked with screening, engaging, and motivating panel members. For candidates with the appropriate qualifications, there is the potential to lead sensory panel training sessions and ensure optimal panel performance.Welcome to the Dairy and Dairy Alternative Sensory Team in Hørsholm, DenmarkOur sensory team comprises two groups of three members located in Hørsholm and Lyngby. While focusing on different food product categories, we emphasize a collaborative and pragmatic approach. Our team in Hørsholm oversees the management of three sensory panels: Fresh Dairy, Cheese, and Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives, each conducting weekly sensory training sessions and evaluations. As part of the Applied R&D Fresh Dairy-DK Projects, Competences, and Sensory, you will be an integral part of a larger team consisting of 17 scientists and technicians.In this role, you will make an impact by:

• Lab Management: Oversee the sensory lab, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Supply Management: Order materials and supplies as needed and recommend improvements for efficiency.
• Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for sensory analyses, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Sensory Analysis Coordination: Coordinate, plan, and organize sensory analysis sessions with panels according to best practices and project requirements in collaboration with the sensory panel leader/scientist.
• Panel Engagement: Keep the panel trained, engaged, and motivated through warm welcomes, meetings, and events.
• Panel Member Recruitment: Annually recruit new internal panel members.
• Promotion of Sensory Science: Support the advertising of sensory science within the organization and provide training to internal and external partners.
• Data capture: Record panel attendance maintain panel member information.
• Data reporting: Conduct statistical data analysis and results interpretation and prepare reports

… a colleague with good communication and coordination skills and enthusiasm for working with our panelists. Our new colleague should also be someone who likes to collaborate, but also run their own projects.More in detail, we imagine that our new colleague can see themselves in several of the following:

• You have 5+ years of experience in a sensory lab (sensory preparations and panel coordination would be preferred)
• You know of statistical analysis and sensory methodologies (familiarity with the software Panel Check and EyeQuestion is a plus)
• You have strong planning skills and a good overview for effective organization of sensory panel sessions.
• You show a high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.
• You are proficient in managing repetitive tasks with consistency and efficiency.
• You can adapt to changes and show flexibility, as we might have to change priorities during the day.
• You are proficient in written and spoken English, as we are an international team
• You have solid skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as you will use these on a daily basis for this role.

It will be a plus, but not a requirement if you…
… have experience with hosting events and motivating panellists to engage and contribute effectively.
