To take a leading role in the design, implementation and maintenance of a unified observability platform, ensuring seamless integration with existing tools and systems.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and collaborators to understand observability needs and deliver tailored solutions that improve system visibility and performance.
  • Develop and implement standard methodologies for monitoring, logging, and alerting across the organization.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve observability processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Solve and resolve sophisticated issues related to observability systems and tools.
  • Stay align with industry trends and emerging technologies, driving improvements to our observability strategy and platform.

Play your part in our team succeedingThe position is part of the larger Developer Experience and Cloud Foundation area, providing product teams in the LEGO Group with foundational capabilities for developing, deploying, and operating IT solutions. As an engineer in OP, you will be part of a team that builds the next generation of our “developer experience and productivity platform”.In OP we strive to find the balance between reducing cognitive load with architecture guidelines and platforms and on the other side empowering developers to be in control of their code and architectures. This platform will integrate technologies like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix, and PagerDuty, providing comprehensive observability services to all product teams within the LEGO Group. As a senior member of the team, this position will play a key role in shaping our observability strategy and ensuring our systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient.The team is based in the new LEGO® Digital Office in Copenhagen, offering an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment – and a little fun play as well!Do you have what it takes?Preferably applicants for this role have several years of extensive experience in designing and managing observability platforms using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix, PagerDuty or similar technologies. Preferred candidates hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent working experience.

  • Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting standard processes and technologies.
  • Very good understanding of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) standard processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar languages).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
