As a part of the larger Indirect Procurement team at Scania you will challenge current status quo and find new innovative solutions in close collaboration with our key suppliers and internal stakeholders. Cross-functional collaboration is an important part of what we do so you’ll gain exposure to functions across Scania and companies within the whole Traton Group.About this roleAs a Senior Sourcing Manager at Scania, you’ll be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that promote right balance between our procurement value drivers – technology, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability. Your work will include both strategic and practical aspects, from negotiation and driving improvements in your segment to defining the global strategy in alignment with colleagues in other companies within Traton and Volkswagen Group. You’ll play a central role in building and maintaining long-term relationships with our suppliers and optimising the procurement process – all together with colleagues who value collaboration and great team spirit!While some of the responsibilities can vary based on the scope of current procurement activities, here is the list of typical tasks for this role:

  • Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers, continuously evaluate and assess potential risks connected to supplier performance and drive improvement projects with specific focus on sustainability.
  • Acquire and utilise category specific market information to spearhead innovation and facilitate further development.
  • Lead Strategic Category Management work and align category strategies within Traton and Volkswagen Group.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainability strategies in close cooperation with internal stakeholders.
  • Drive sourcing activities, lead negotiations, present business cases in front of the decision boards.
  • Lead work in collaboration with legal department to further develop contract templates and frameworks.
  • Take an active role in ensuring that procurement activities are carried out in alignment with important cross functional stakeholders within Volkswagen Group
  • Proactively initiate and drive improvement projects in connection to routines and standard operation processes
  • Act as a role model in terms of purchasing ways of working and Scania core values (Customer first, Respect, Team spirit, Responsibility, Elimination of waste)
  • Use your broader expertise and competence to guide and support colleagues within the group and commodity and indirectly give leverage to the entire groups’ and commodities’ output.

  • Is driven by complex projects and enjoys international collaboration
  • Has 10+ years of procurement experience on a strategic level
  • Has experience of working with supplier governance models in large organization.
  • Has profound experience in navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and delivering procurement projects withing the agreed terms
  • Has relevant higher education and good analytical skills
  • Is experienced in working in a structured way, taking data-driven decisions and building solid business cases for the key stakeholders involved in projects

It is meritorious to have:
