You are subscribed to receive alerts for jobs similar to this one.Our client, a global engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Maritime Engineer to join them on a two year fixed term contract.
Duties include:
- Led the assessment and review of jetty and pier design specifications.
- Evaluated structural soundness and material suitability to ensure design integrity.
- Identified potential issues and provided recommendations to improve asset reliability and performance.
- Collaborated with external stakeholders, including port authorities and towage service providers.
- Coordinated with internal teams such as Marine Engineers, consultants, and the PMO.
- Delivered detailed reports and findings to the client, supported by the PMO team.
Requirements:
- Possess 7-20 years of experience in Structural Maritime Engineering across environments such as jetties, piers, dockyards, shipyards, and offshore platforms.
- Skilled in analysing maritime structural designs and assessing their operational effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a meticulous approach to design precision, evaluation, and documentation.
- Conduct safety assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Experienced in navigating complex matrix organisations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Must reside within commuting distance of Cork; relocation support is not available.
- Applicants must be Irish citizens or have the right to work permanently in Ireland, as visa sponsorship is not offered.
