Please read more about Finnish sites, innovative work, and collaborative colleagues atHow will you make an impactWe are recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to join our R&D organization’s Systems Engineering team in Vantaa Biomarkers, Automation and Instrumentation (BAI) business unit to develop and support Laboratory Automation Systems and Clinical and Industrial Analyzers products.Vantaa BAI R&D teams consist of about 100 R&D professionals, and you will work with other systems engineering colleagues and other team members like hardware, software, usability, verification and validation engineers as well with project and product managers, sourcing, production, quality assurance & regulatory affairs members.As Senior Systems Engineer you will have an outstanding opportunity to lead systems engineering activities in product development projects. Your main responsibility will be leading development of new instrumentation and support current product line instruments.Key Responsibilities
- Establish clear understanding of customer needs and partner with our Product Management teams to interpret and translate user and customer needs into systems architecture and system requirements.
- Develop the high-level concept design for the product line’s systems and products in multi-functional projects from early concept design phase to launch.
- Define feasibility studies to confirm proof-of-concept, lead feasibility activities and review their results.
- Engage with collaborators, customers, partners, and team members to clearly define the system requirements, specifications that are needed to architect, design, and develop the next generation instruments and consumables while maintaining risk analysis and requirement traceability in conjunction with subsystem requirements owners.
- Guide and mentor the design teams for detailed design to ensure that design meets the requirements.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in collaboration with regulatory team.
- Improve our ways of working and formal processes to make our operation mechanisms more efficient.
- Participate for products sustaining and collaborate with other specialists for CAPA handling.
How will you get there
- Graduated (University or advanced technical college) in engineering, software, physics, or related field.
- Shown problem-solving skills in multidisciplinary product development programs.
- Ability to see key dependencies between different areas of the design and impact of changes on customer experience, manufacturing cost, product performance and development timelines.
- Experience for requirements engineering and product risk management.
- Experience to lead development teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Finnish.
- Passion towards continuous improvement, high quality and willingness to own and be accountable for design decisions
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, delegate responsibilities, and make trade-offs when needed.
- Shown track record of product development leading to successful product launches.
