The team is responsible for generating technical requirements for our products by researching system requirements from the application level to the SoC feature level. Our wireless Systems team investigates the latest wireless technologies and provides requirements for roadmap devices.What you’ll be doingLead the wireless systems team in our Espoo officeEnsure our products have the right features and technologies to winDrive Silicon Labs technology strategy and long-term roadmapWork closely with the Business Unit Marketing teams (Home and Life, Industrial and Commercial) to prioritize Systems team R&D projectsDevelop and improve systems team processesCollaborate with other company functions such as design engineering, marketing, applications, and SalesMinimum Qualifications – technical skillsBSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of industry experience3+ years of experience as an engineering manager or engineering team leadProfessional working experience with embedded solutions, protocols and products, preferably related to Bluetooth, SubGHz, Thread/Zigbee, and/or Wi-FiStrong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and semiconductorsExcellent written and oral communication skills in English. Must be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders.Experience using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power analyzers, etc.Soft skillsFlexibility to synchronize with team members located on different global time zonesDetailed understanding and hands-on experience in software development lifecycle and methodologies, including traditional Agile and waterfall methodsExperience in use of modern project management tools (Confluence, Jira, Portfolio Manager, MS Project, etc.)Experience leading the interviewing and hiring of new full-time engineersExperience working within a global organizationProven ability to work with cross-functional teams in different locations.Advantageous QualificationsExperience working at a semiconductor companyBasic understanding of hardware IP architecture, development and verificationRadio firmware experience at the PHY / MAC layersExperience in Bluetooth Low Energy AudioAdditional knowledge of some IoT or other communication protocol stacks like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, or Wi-SunExperience with one or more RTOS – Free RTOS, uc/OS, Zephyr preferredExperience managing team of experienced engineers.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
