Job description
Responsibilities and Duties * Ensure efficient and timely production within established deadlines.
- Manage and coordinate the work of subordinates and subcontractors in assigned areas.
- Update the project schedule for your area, promptly notifying the construction manager of any potential delays.
- Oversee cost control for each subcontract, maintaining budget ownership.
- Obtain approval from the construction manager for any additional work, providing a clear description of variations and costs.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with subcontractors as needed.
- Liaise with the safety officer and health and safety manager, reporting critical issues to the construction manager.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed consistently on site (toolbox talks, task launch meetings, etc.).
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist in checking and, if necessary, adjusting progress schedules in alignment with construction manager guidance.
- Support the technical/method team in preparing method statements, inspection and test plans, and work-specific environmental impact assessments.
- Monitor and control the quality of manufacturing to meet specified standards and approved models or samples.
- Prevent workers from performing unsafe or environmentally harmful activities.
- Ensure that lifting equipment is operated by qualified personnel.
- Conduct pre-job briefings for specific tasks, ensuring clear understanding by subcontractors and workers.
- Open non-conformance reports and propose solutions as needed.
- Inspect all temporary equipment upon arrival at the site (e.g., lifts, cranes).
- Prepare and issue inspection notifications, signing off on work inspection records once verified (for temporary installations).
- Collaborate with the procurement manager to communicate project needs and technical information.
- Ensure work proceeds as planned and in accordance with approved method statements.
- Ensure safe storage and control of hazardous substances on site.
- Notify the construction manager of any changes during project execution.
- Verify that the management of change control record is signed by the construction manager before continuing with modified tasks.
- Conduct pre-task meetings before beginning site work, providing clear instructions on the work methods and sequence of operations (including inspection and testing plan).
- Ensure all subcontractors understand the management of change process.
- Attach minutes from change control meetings to the change control record and distribute copies to the QHSE department.
- Create method statements and work control procedures tailored to construction activities.
