About the RoleWe are seeking a Software Engineer to expand our R&D team delivering microcontroller (MCU) based solutions in Berlin, Germany or Oulu, Finland.Qt Company’s engineers work on the Qt framework and tools, which enable our customers to create applications that run smoothly on many different platforms. The solution is called Qt for MCUs and it is now rapidly gaining popularity on the market. Increasingly, many products are made with this technology, ranging from automotive and motorcycle clusters to home appliances, medical devices, industrial products, and vehicles, and more.An important part of Qt for MCUs’ total offering is the solution for UI designers. In this role, you will work on software solutions that will make it easier to deploy the UI designer’s designs on an actual running MCU. You enjoy solving problems, understand the importance of good usability, and perhaps know a few design tools already on the market.The future is written with Qt and we would like you to be part of it!You will:

• Actively contribute to the development process by writing robust C++ code for MCUs
• Participate in software design and architecture discussions
• Work hands-on with the world’s leading cross-platform C++ framework, focusing on embedded systems
• Contribute to maintaining a large codebase
• Work closely with colleagues, both within the company and in the broader Qt community
• Focus on quality – keywords are continuous integration, testing, and code reviews
• Implement best practices in software development
• Work independently, managing your tasks and projects
• Be a part of a growing team whose product the world of product makers is daily using

About you:

• Extensive experience with C++ programming language
• Solid background in software engineering and know the ins and outs of C++
• Experience with debugging and profiling on embedded devices
• Hands-on experience working on embedded software projects, with or without an OS
• In-depth understanding of software design and architecture principles
• Understanding the Web development stack and Typescript is a plus
• Experience with the Qt for MCUs and QML is a plus
• Understanding in the modern Web development stack, including Typescript
• Interest in software design and architecture
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows
• Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written (English is our corporate language)
