The Toast POS (point-of-sale) app is the central pillar of Toast’s restaurant products. Millions of servers, hosts, bartenders, and chefs use Toast’s POS daily to serve their guests!Toast is looking for an Android Engineer to join our new Upsells platform team. This team is responsible for creating a new platform within the Toast POS for smart upsell suggestions using Generative AI models. The platform helps staff in real time with upsell suggestions and approaches and works across multiple channels such as ToastGo server devices, guest facing displays and self-serve kiosks. It provides a unified experience and enables restaurants to increase sales and upskill staff quickly – maximizing revenue and restaurant efficiency.If you want to be at the forefront of creating something tangible that is used every day to help restaurants worldwide achieve their vision, then Toast is the place for you.About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Build and enhance features in our Android POS app, creating a seamless and intuitive user experience.
• Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and prototyping to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure robustness, performance, and reliability of the POS application.
• Provide technical guidance and support through code reviews and design discussions.

• Experience with Java, Kotlin with modern Android standards and technologies and can apply them to build fully responsive, performant Android applications.
• The capacity to tackle complex and ambiguous problems, communicate clearly with others to solve the problem, and share knowledge to help the whole team succeed
• Strong attention to detail
• Focused on delivering a positive impact for Toast customers
• Experience working closely with product and design in a team with Agile/Scrum methodology.
