Job descriptionSoftware Engineering Team LeadIntaPeople are currently supporting a fast-growing Fintech based in Cardiff. Due to continued growth and team size, they now require an experience Software Engineering Team Lead to join their high performing, cross functional team. We’re looking for candidates who come from a Software Engineering background (ideally in Java, but not essential) and who have experience managing technical teams whilst ensuring the successful delivery of client projects. This role will be responsible for leading between 4-8 individuals (depending on your experience) so will likely remain handsoff. We are open to speaking with candidates who want to remain partially handson with the code also so please apply if this is of interest.You will be responsible for maintain deliverables, championing AGILE and running sprint/scrum meetings on a weekly/monthly basis. Partnering with Product Owners, you will help plan and execute high priority deliverables whilst driving continuous improvement and a positive culture within the team.Skills at a glance;

• A computer science or studies degree (or relatable experience to match)
• At least several years experience working as a Lead Software Engineer or Delivery Lead/Manager or Technical Scrum Master
• At least 2years+ experience as a Software Engineer or Software Tester ideally working with Java, JavaScript, SQL, Spring Boot or AWS.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and motivating high-performing technology teams
• Strong experience working with AGILE and SCRUM
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• A positive, motivating and enthusiastic approach
• Experience working with the banking, loan or financial sector would be highly beneficial but not essential

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will champion AGILE ways of working whilst providing support to the wider organisation to identify skills gaps and training opportunities. Working with other internal stakeholders you will also provide project visibility and progress updates to ensure the team are sticking to delivery time-lines and go live updates. Whilst this role is to be seen as ‘hands off’ we are looking for candidates with programming experience in order to be able to communicate more effectively and provide solutions when needed.Role overview (at a glance);

• Technical Engineering Team Lead / Agile Delivery Lead / Technical Scrum Master
• A starting salary of £60,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
• A discretionary performance-based bonus of upto 10%-15%+ per year
