Your role is to define the quality strategy for our headset products, with primary focus on software and firmware deliverables. You’ll be collaborating with our software feature teams to define test and release strategy, test cases, and quality KPIs to drive up the quality bar over time. You’ll lead a team of QA engineers that produce and execute manual and automated tests. In this role you’ll also collaborate with our hardware organization to ensure hardware and software testing play together to deliver the overall quality promise to our customers.What you’ll be doing

  • Define and oversee implementation of quality strategy for Varjo’s XR headset software and firmware in collaboration with software feature teams and hardware organization
  • Lead a team of QA engineers working primarily on manual testing, but also contributing to test automation
  • Coach the team on both manual and automated testing
  • Collaborate with our CI & Build team to ensure our automated testing infrastructure produces data engineers and management need to ensure high quality
  • Dive deep into automated and manual tests and results and KPIs to understand quality gaps and drive improvement over time

Our expectations

  • Experience in driving software quality and testing strategy for complex software and hardware products
  • Team lead or people management experience
  • Ability and willingness to take a hands-on approach to deliver results, as this role involves performing both automated and manual tests alongside your team
  • Experience both in automated and manual testing
  • Ability to drive change in fast-evolving environments
  • Any real-time graphics/video or XR -related testing experience is a plus
