This position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our Load & Haul equipment.Your jobSourcing Category Manager is responsible for assigned direct material category. Main job is to develop and maintain relationships of the suppliers in your category in close collaboration with R&D, engineering, supplier quality and purchasing to deliver the best value to Load & Haul business in terms of Quality, Delivery Performance and Total Cost. Category Manager collaborates with Global Category Manager to support overall Category strategy definition and deployment.Your key responsibilitiesDevelop and monitor supplier performance in cooperation with other functions and leading a cross functional team of buyer, design, quality, production engineers.Development and implementation of sourcing strategy that supports Division strategy.Manage new supplier projects, ensure agreed targets and secure supply.Develop and maintain sourcing projects, ensure targets and secure supply.Follow supplier market and trends globally and locally.Conduct supplier negotiations and selection process in collaboration with SQ and supplyContract management and supplier negotiations are vital part of the job.Supplier capacity management and quality management in supplier selection.Ensure adherence to Sandvik Purchasing Policy, Code of Conduct and EHS and sustainability targets.Your background and what we find importantSuitable degree in B.Sc., M. Sc., and experience or training or degree in Strategic Procurement.Min. 5 years experience in strategic purchasing or sourcing and experience in mechanical engineering industry in sales, production, purchasing or R&D.Knowledge of Risk analysis and Supplier audit, fundaments of financing and agreement lawTechnical and commercial orientationGood understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and R&D processesAnalytical, problem-solving skills and project management skillsGood collaboration and negotiation skills to build effective relations internally and externallyFluency in Finnish and EnglishJob requires frequent travelling, approx. 30%.What’s in it for you?We offer you a flexible working environment, an interesting role with high impact and high visibility, in a truly international environment as well as opportunities for your professional development.
