Want to join the ride?Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for a Specialist Legal Counsel, Supply Chain Management to join its Engine Power Plants Legal & Compliance team in Finland.What you will be doingAs Specialist Legal Counsel, Supply Chain Management in the Engine Power Plants Legal & Compliance team, you will handle various types of legal, regulatory and trade compliance matters in relation to Engine Power Plant business. You will provide strategic regulatory and compliance advice to the Supply Chain Management organization to help the business navigate the constantly evolving regulatory and geopolitical environment. You will be part of a global legal team and report to the Head of Legal, Engine Power Plants in Wärtsilä Energy Business.The location of this position is Helsinki or Vaasa, Finland. We offer a flexible hybrid working model.As Specialist legal Counsel, Supply Chain Management, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Provide commercially oriented and solution based legal and compliance support to the Engine Power Plants business in a variety of business matters, with focus on Supply Chain Management.
  • Provide strategic advice to supply chain management on various regulatory and geopolitics related matters, including ESG, compliance and trade compliance.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of policies, work processes and contract templates.
  • Provide training to the business on relevant topics.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Qualified to practice law in a relevant civil or common law jurisdiction, with a law degree from a reputable university.
  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience in either an in-house or a private practice role, with experience in commercial or corporate transactions and regulatory and compliance matters in an international setting. Experience in logistics and transportation contracts is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English; ability to draft and negotiate. Other language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills coupled with commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Solid drafting, presentation and communication skills. You have the skill to translate complicated legal matters to business stakeholders in an understandable way.
  • Good time management skills: ability to navigate through different priorities.
  • Good initiative, a strong sense of ethics and the ability to balance risk to Wärtsilä with win-win solutions for our customer
  • Can-do attitude combined with an innovative mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude, ability to work in a multi-cultural organisation and virtual teams.
  • Readiness to travel.
